Seven year old Heidi loved her home in the town of Cumberland Maine.     Summer was near and she looked     forward to all that it would bring.     Her plans hit a massive, thorny thicket when her dad received good news and  Heidi had to adjust to a new life.     She’s rescued by a new friend, and in turn does some rescuing of her own.

Heidi’s Hound: The Sick Puppy by Carey V. Azzara published by Glass Spider Publishing is a very heart warming children book. The Sick Puppy is the first installment in the Heidi’s Hound trilogy.

It is about a seven year old girl Heidi. She loves living in Maine with her mom and dad but one fine day comes to know that her father has got a better job in Virginia and they might have to shift there. Heartbroken and friendless Heidi arrives in Virginia where she meets Nancy a teacher at Heidi’s would be school Samuel Tucker who takes her to a dog shelter. From there starts a story of love, care and kindness.

It is a very sweet story and uplifting. Heidi is a lovable character and her parents are encouraging and supportive. This book is a riveting read plus imparts good values. Heidi’s Hound is a 50 paged book that consists of beautiful colorful illustrations (of Heidi, her rescue dogs, her mother and more). It is written in a very lucid language and makes sure to hold your attention.

Also, did you look that that pretty bright cover? Isn’t it the CUTEST?

My Rating: 4.5/5
