It is my pleasure to host author Sabina Vigil on my blog today
Me: Have you always wanted to be a writer?
Sabina: Yes, I have always wanted to become a writer. My father would help me write little books about my stuffed toy animals when I was five.
Me: What made you pen this down?
Sabina: I’ve had this story in my head for a while and I felt that I needed to get it out of my system. I’ve also taken a class in Romance writing recently and my teacher encouraged me to write it.
I also wrote this book because police brutality and discrimination against the Latinx and African American community is a huge problem that needs to be addressed. I’m very grateful to Yawanda Black, my writing coach, for encouraging me to address this topic. I’m also grateful to The Martin Luther King Coalition in Albuquerque, NM and Black Lives Matter for their fierce activism.
Me: How many books do you plan to publish in the Rio Grande Romantic Series?
Sabina: At least three in this series. I’m working on the second one now.
Me: Can these books be read as a stand alone?
Sabina: Yes, they can.
Me: What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
Sabina: I like to spend time with my son and our pet dog and Guinea Pig.
Me: Describe Lydia and Gabriel in 3 words each.
Sabina: Lydia is tenacious, smart, compassionate. Gabriel is artistic, passionate, confident.
Me: The cover is very attractive. How did it come to be?
Sabina: I found a graphic artist on Fiverr who put it together for me.
Me: Are there any other projects underway?
Sabina: I’m working on the second novella in the series.
