New York Times bestselling author RaeAnne Thayne brings you back to Haven Point—a place made for second chances…

McKenzie Shaw would do anything for her beloved hometown of Haven Point. It may be small and struggling, but it’s never let her down…unlike gorgeous, infuriating Ben Kilpatrick. He was her childhood hero until he closed his family’s factory, leaving the town’s economy in shambles. Now he’s back—his tech firm is considering opening a local facility. For Haven Point’s sake, McKenzie has to grit her teeth and play nice.

What could a town filled with painful memories ever offer Ben? He left Haven Point behind years ago, for good reason. Yet seeing the town through the eyes of McKenzie—its fiery young mayor—he suddenly has his answer. If only he can resolve the animosity crackling between them, Ben may have found the place where he can build ties and find healing…a place where love arrives when it’s least expected.

Redemption Bay, is the second installment of the Haven point series but can also be read separately as a stand alone. It’s a feel good contemporary romance that dwells a little in a toxic past of the protagonists: McKenzie and Ben. Just the type I’m devouring at this moment!💞🤷‍♀️

What immediately strikes you about this book is the lovely setting and the vivid scenic descriptions. The writing is simple and easy. It grabs the reader from chapter 1. McKenzie’s history with the town and her investments throughout makes her the perfect mayor. And handsome Ben with his own share of a tortured past is smart enough to not it let it get in the way when it counts. There are enough supporting cast that adds a cosy feeling but not make you lose focus. Though I would have preferred a bit more swoon to the romance. Also, did I mention that there are two absolutely beautiful dogs to add to this creamy delicious pie of a book!!!!😍

The first part of the book is set 10 years past, where 16 year old Lily moves to Australia from the UK with her mother. There she falls in love with an older guy, Ben, that becomes to be one of the most significant and constant feeling of hers. Then the book fast forwards to the present day, where Lily, engaged to Richard, once again crosses path with Ben. And thus starts the complications begin. This is slow burn, heart warming romance being hilarious at times. This is a love triangle done right!

First, Paige Toon is an AMAZING author. Her writing style is so easy that you just fly through the pages! I finished reading it in a day, even though the pace falters a bit in the second part of the story. Also loved, how the long epilogue made up for some gaps that I really wished to be filled in. The narrative is fluffy yet you feel strong emotions.😍😍 The characters likable.

This book is reminds you what it’s like to be young and in love. This book is also about timing. This book is about loooooooove.

The rules are simple: choose the most significant moments from your relationship – one for each hour in the day.

You’d probably pick when you first met, right?
And the instant you knew for sure it was love?
Maybe even the time you watched the sunrise after your first night together?

But what about the car journey on the holiday where everything started to go wrong? Or your first proper fight?

Or that time you lied about where you’d been?

It’s a once in a lifetime chance to learn the truth.

But if you had to be completely honest with the one you love, would you still play?

For Esme and Tom, the game is about to begin. But once they start, there’s no going back . . .

Our Life In A Day, is not much about the events but is more about the emotions playing out. It’s about the little things that brings us close and the things that take us afar from our loved ones. This book is an experience itself. You need to introspect and re-live a 10 year long relationship in 24 hours along with Tom and Esme. This book is about the FEELS.

It is all consuming. An emotional cracker. There is so much love, tenderness and heartache in it’s pages. Our Life in a Day’s take on relationship and mental health is honest through and through. It is also very pivotal as we rarely get to read books that explore male mental health. This book explores exactly that and reflects its impact on his relationships.

This book is both beautiful and moving.

The plot is definitely original but the development cracks at times. The ending is very well done and you’ll be gasping for air through tears by the time. Also, the writing is very easy to get into. I finished it in just two sitting.

Trigger Warning: Depression, Alcohol Abuse

Title: You Say It First

Author: Susan Mallery

Pages: 416 pages (Paperback)

Genre: Romance

Publisher: Mills & Boon

Sculptor Nick Mitchell grew up in a family of artists and learned from his volatile father that passion only leads to pain. As he waits on a new commission, he takes a day job as a humble carpenter at a theme wedding venue. The job has its perks—mainly the venue’s captivating owner, Pallas Saunders. Although he won’t let love consume him, for ecstasy with an expiration date, he’s all in.

Pallas adores Weddings in a Box. But if she can’t turn the floundering business around, she’ll have no choice but cave to her domineering mother and trade taffeta for trust funds working at the family’s bank. Then when a desperate bride begs Pallas for something completely out of the box, her irresistible new hire inspires her. Nick knows she doesn’t belong behind a desk, and she knows in her heart that he’s right—where she really belongs is in his arms.

Visit on ‘You Say It First’ Goodreads…

‘You Say It First’ by Susan Mallery is a feel-good small town romance and a spin-off of Fool’s Gold. But can as well be read alone.

Nick is a sculpture, and a very handsome one at that. He takes a carpenting job at Pallas’s Weddings in a Box at a mere subsistence wage while awaiting an offer in Dubai. He is not only a treat to the eyes but is also very considerate and supportive of Pallas from the very start.

Pallas inherited Wedding in a Box while in college. But is still struggling to gain the respect and love from her mother, Libby. She seems to be dissapointed in her and wants her to join the family bank.

Both have there issues with love. Pallas thinks it is something to be earned. While Nick thinks it consumes all. Pallas’ issues arise from her cold mother who never gave love freely to her(that she later confronts) while Nick’s arise from his distant and unfaithful father who never cared about anything apart from his art.

It is a very heartwarming story that incorporates captivating emotional conflict with a swoon worthy romance. But You Say It First is not just that. It is also equal parts about family and friendship as it is about the romance. Susan Mallery also did a very vivid setup with so many weddings and wedding preparations going on. Also, the character development of Pallas throughout the story was commendable.

Completely devastated, Maggie decides to take break and visit her Dad in Colorado. Where she finally comes across Cal Jones! Our Main Guy!!

The characters are fleshed out so well that you can even bet you’ve already known Maggie for years!

What We Find is a character driven book according to me. It’s the emotions and a very honest portrayal of it, that drives the plot. I absolutely devoured this book. Specially the sharp conscience with which Carr’s narrative. What We Find is a book that will make sure it has all your attention.

This book is about new beginnings. And provided me with a sense of comfort and hope. I’ll definitely recommend What We Find by Robyn Carr to everyone.

Kasie West is an author I got introduced to in 2018. So far I’ve read 2 novel of hers and 1 short story. Here are the mini reviews of the 2 novels I’ve read of hers.

1. By Your Side: It was just a fine read for me. Though the characters were gorgeous and charming, the plot was unnecessarily complicated. I did not like how West tried to tackle the love triangle. What she tried, required a thorough exploration of emotions and that was not done. It was a fluffy YA and should have been kept at just that! I don’t like things done half way. Like if you want to do a chick lit, ace that. Don’t try to throw in some complications just for the sake of some brownie critic points! Specially if you can’t do justice to that!

Though brooding and mysterious Dax, gets it a 3.5☆ from me.

2. Fill-in Boyfriend, is a slow burn feel-good romance with the ‘fake dating trope’. It instantly became one of my favourite YA contemporary romances. Light, simple and fluffy, this book is a perfect weekend read. Hayden and Hannah will make you swoon!

It’s a 5☆ from me.

Have you read a Kasie West? What’s your thought on these?😀
